Supporting You on Your Path to Success.

Minard Hamilton Career Advisory

Every Successful
Person You Know Has A
Coach

I have worked as a senior executive at major media companies and VC-backed start ups. For the past decade, I have primarily focused on helping early stage CEO's raise money and navigate the myriad challenges they face. I do this through Driver Ventures, my operating entity. My work with them will be much like my work with you.

Most people struggle to truly understand their strengths and how to confidently articulate them to a potential employer during an interview. My goal is to change that. I can help you grow your self-awareness, present yourself confidently and navigate the professional world with greater ease.

My career as a senior executive and advisor to early stage companies and major media companies like ESPN, Electronic Arts, Activision and  even as a banker at J.P. Morgan has left me well-equipped to help you. I’ve gained invaluable insights into the hiring process from both sides of the table, understanding what companies look for in candidates and how to position yourself as the ideal fit. Additionally, I'm skilled in negotiating for maximum compensation while preserving strong professional relationships.

                   -  O. Smith, Head of Sales - NA, Shopline US

Minard was so helpful to me in every way…I concluded the process with more base pay, more equity, a signing bonus, and feeling very proud of myself.                                     -  J. Martin, Sr. Counsel, Postman

Minard was a tower of support when I needed mentoring back into the workplace.                                                                - E. Smith, Agency Partnerships, TikTok

I worked with Minard during a pivotal point in our growth. His guidance was essential and he asked questions that truly pushed me to think about things in a new way. Ultimately, thanks to Minard I developed a personal plan that supports my growth and protects me. I can not recommend him more highly.                 - Y. New Job/Career Change

I am adept at helping people re-imagine their careers and supporting them on their new job search.

Few things are more discouraging than being unhappy in your job. Waking up each day to face an unfulfilling work environment can be challenging. Your well-being matters, so if you’re feeling this way, it’s time to step back and consider a change.

Starting a job search is the first step toward finding a workplace that aligns with your values, interests, and career goals. Embrace the idea that you deserve a role where your skills are valued and where you can thrive personally and professionally. Taking action opens you to new possibilities and the chance to rediscover your passion. Trust yourself, believe in your abilities, and remember that change can lead to incredible growth and happiness.

I am familiar with what skills are most valued across many industries and can help you reposition yourself to maximize interest in you.

We will reposition how you engage your boss and human resources department.  While your salary matters, you also need to understand other forms of compensation including options and restricted stock and their exercise windows and tax implications.

Many companies tend to undervalue their employees, which can lead to frustration and resentment. It’s important to remember that seeking fair compensation is both valid and necessary. Your skills, expertise, and dedication deserve recognition and reward. Advocating for yourself isn’t selfish; it’s an act of self-respect and a step toward aligning your compensation with your contributions. You deserve fair compensation, and I understand the courage and perseverance it takes to address this sensitive issue.

Politics

Dealing with company politics or a difficult boss can be a major workplace challenge. Navigating office politics often requires balancing professionalism with self-advocacy, and it can feel discouraging when promotions or recognition seem based on favoritism rather than merit. Working under a difficult boss can create a stressful, demotivating environment, potentially undermining your confidence and stalling your growth.

However, these challenges aren’t insurmountable. Developing strategies to handle office politics or a challenging boss is essential for career success. By acknowledging these obstacles and finding ways to manage them, you can maintain your integrity and keep your career moving forward.

Next Steps

The number of people I can help is limited as I do this work in addition to advising early stage companies. I do not advertise or market my services. I only work via referrals. To see if we are a good fit, I like to schedule a free 15 minute introductory chat. There's a lot of chemistry to coaching and we should have a sense after 15 minutes if we are a good fit.

We all deserve a great career so whether you achieve it via my help or someone else's, go for it. Nothing will change unless you take that first step.
